Service Quality: The primary goal of a restoration company is to return affected properties to their original state—dry and clean. To achieve this, processes were developed to ensure the proper drying of materials, including the correct placement of drying equipment and adequate monitoring to determine the necessary duration of each project. The use of top-quality equipment, combined with staff training and supervision, has been essential in meeting these objectives.

Rapid Response: Water damage restoration is often an emergency service. Many property owners suddenly find themselves dealing with a broken pipe and flooding in their homes. A fast drying response helps mitigate damage, preventing it from worsening and affecting structural materials. Another key objective is to prevent bacterial growth or mold, which can pose serious health risks. To address this, standby teams were implemented, ensuring immediate response to customer calls.

Custom Software Implementation: A proprietary software, BIOSOFT, was designed and developed to serve as the primary tool for managing the company’s operations and administration. Since every drying project must conclude with a detailed photographic report, BIOSOFT provides a real-time registration platform to automatically generate these reports. By developing its own software, the company can periodically optimize it based on new management strategies and additional modules. The long-term goal is to commercialize the software for other industry professionals or integrate it into a Biohome Restorations franchise project.

Post-Service Follow-Up: A post-service care protocol was established, including a dedicated position responsible for contacting all customers after each service. This initiative builds trust with clients and ensures that any issues are promptly addressed. Additionally, during this follow-up, customers are introduced to other available services and the company’s referral program. This strategy has been highly effective, generating 25% of the company’s total operations.

BIOHOME RESTORATIONS at yourside in difficult times

Fully operational teams have been deployed during major weather events that severely impacted Florida. Although operations began in 2018, most of the company’s early clients were homeowners affected by Hurricane Irma in September 2017. In these cases, damaged roofs allowed water intrusion into homes, causing severe damage.

Therefore, before beginning an internal drying project, it was necessary to protect the roof by covering it with a Blue Tarp to prevent further water intrusion from future rains. In 2019, the company’s founder obtained Florida State Licenses as a Mold Remediator and Mold Assessor, certifications granted after passing the training and evaluations from NORMI (National Organization of Remediators and Microbial Inspectors).

These licenses enabled the expansion of services to include mold remediation. The company has also responded to urgent situations caused by hurricanes: Michael (2018), Dorian (2019), Sally (2020), Ian (2022), Idalia (2023), Milton (2024), and Helene (2024). These experiences have provided invaluable knowledge, allowing for the continuous improvement of internal processes for immediate disaster response.

Overcoming Challenges: The 2020 Pandemic

The 2020 pandemic had a severe impact on operations, reducing them by 85%. To adapt to this new reality and ensure business continuity while maintaining job security for employees, a new strategy was implemented. During this period, NORMI offered training in property sanitization, a process designed to eliminate bacteria and viruses from homes and businesses.

While many competitors began offering sanitization services for a fee, Biohome Restorations approached the situation differently. Instead of charging for the service, the company launched a Free Sanitization Campaign, offering assistance to the community at no cost. Through local media, residents were advised not to pay for sanitization services, as Biohome Restorations was providing them free of charge.

This initiative resulted in a high volume of service requests, and approximately 120 sanitizations were performed during that period. While helping the community, the company also identified many water-damaged properties, converting many of those residents into long-term clients. This approach not only supported the community but also contributed to business growth. Meanwhile, competitors who charged for sanitization struggled, while Biohome Restorations was welcomed into homes with trust and appreciation.

Expansion and Innovation

In 2022, an extensive market analysis was conducted to evaluate the water damage restoration industry in other states. Based on the findings, an ambitious expansion plan was developed and executed. As a result, in 2023, a new Biohome Restorations branch was established in Dallas, Texas.

This expansion coincided with Hurricane Beryl, which struck Houston, prompting the company to deploy multiple teams to assist in the emergency response efforts.

In January 2024, the founder published the first book:
📖 Basic Concepts in the Water Damage Restoration Process
This book was written to document industry expertise in a clear and comprehensive manner. It serves as a detailed guide to restoration procedures, emphasizing the importance of technical documentation. The final chapter focuses on an aspect often overlooked in training courses: how to properly structure the final project report, including guidelines for organizing photos, presenting temperature charts, and ensuring a logical sequence in documentation.

In 2024, expansion efforts continued with the opening of a new branch in Denver, Colorado. This market presented unique business opportunities, particularly related to pipe bursts caused by freezing temperatures and roof damage from hailstorms.

By developing targeted marketing strategies, the company successfully positioned itself in this market.

Following the long-term expansion plan, in January 2025, Biohome Restorations launched operations in Los Angeles, California, establishing a high-capacity setup to meet the city’s growing demand.

In February 2025, the founder published a second book:
📖 Basic Concepts in the Mold Remediation Process
This book follows the same detailed approach as the first but focuses on mold remediation techniques. It serves as a valuable resource for professionals looking to enhance their knowledge of mold removal and prevention.
